Burnside Leathercraft was born from two things: a deep respect for honest work and a love of lasting quality. As a veteran-owned small business, we believe that what you carry, wear, and use every day should be made to last — just like the values instilled through years of military service.

Who Makes Your Gear

Every piece that leaves our shop is made by hand, one at a time. We're not a factory. We're a small operation where the same person who cuts the leather is the one who stitches, finishes, and inspects your order before it ships. That kind of personal accountability matters to us — and it shows in the final product.

The Craft and the Materials

We work almost exclusively with full-grain and vegetable-tanned leather — the real stuff. It's tougher to work with, it takes more time, and it costs more than the alternatives. But it's the only leather that develops a rich patina over years of use, growing more beautiful the more you use it. We source our hardware from trusted suppliers who hold the same standard: brass, solid copper, and stainless steel only. Nothing plated, nothing that'll fail you.

Every stitch is hand-sewn using the saddle stitch technique — two needles, waxed linen thread, and a lock stitch that won't unravel even if it's cut. It's slower than machine stitching. It's also significantly stronger.

In the military, gear that fails isn't an inconvenience — it's a problem. That mindset doesn't leave you. We build every wallet, belt, bag, and accessory with the expectation that it should outlast the cheap stuff by decades.
